Sad day for Marklin
Well, this is not BadgerBits-related news but it's relevant to share.
Sadly, Marklin, one of the greatest model railway marques, is no more. Here's how I reported it on my family blog:
I'm not a fan of European railways or their models, however I do use MiniTrix (made by Marklin) N-scale mechanisms in my N-scals NSW-outline models.
So I was saddened yesterday when the Australian_N_Scale Yahoogroup carried this item:German Model Train Maker Märklin Goes Bankrupt
The credit crisis has reached Germany's legendary model train
manufacturer. Märklin filed for insolvency on Wednesday, citing a
breakdown in talks for a loan.
Märklin, the 150-year-old German model train manufacturer, declared
bankruptcy on Wednesday after talks with banks to extend a ?50 million
line of credit broke down.
